As part of my weight loss efforts, I am learning to try new foods that are healthy. If any of you know me, you know this is no easy task for me as I am a very bland/picky eater. Last night I tried snap peas for the first time. SNAP PEAS! Love them! Who knew?! And, even better, on WW, they are 0 points...FREE. I brought a baggie of them to work with me today and ate some on my lunch and ate some at my desk for a snack because they give me that crunchy, crispy snack that I need mid-day. Getting my veggies in has ALWAYS been a challenge for me, Now, this should help me meet my veggie intake.
Another new thing I tried that I give two thumbs up: Special K protein shakes (milk chocolate) 3 points on WW. And they really fill you up!
Until next time, my friends!
Onward!

I feel like a million bucks!
Last night at WW was my first weigh-in.....drum roll please......I lost 8.8 pounds my first week! Hallelujah! I feel like my hope is restored and I am ready to conquer another week of weight loss. Another success to share was that the last time I was on the WW program, I would go home and binge eat on take out pizza after a weigh-in because I knew I had all week to burn it off before the next weigh-in. Not this time! I stayed on my program last night and kept on going strong! No take-out pizza for me....
Until next time! Onward ever, backwards NEVER!

Jodi

A Successful Weekend
Well, I made it through my first weekend back on the WW program with success! To be honest, it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I tried to keep busy and plan ahead. I am looking forward to my first weigh-in tomorrow to see if the scale will be nice to me or not. Until tomorrow.....

Day 3 and going strong!
As you know, I started back on my program on Tuesday. I have been following the program beautifully and, so far, without any troubles or major obstacles. I am writing today to share with you what may seem like a small victory, but given my past eating habits and tendency to emotionally eat, it is a huge victory for me. Yesterday was a VERY difficult day as I was dealing with Bossen family problems (so what else is new, right)and ultimately had to sever ties with one of my family members. Needless to say, it was an emotional day. In the past, I would have come home and scarfed down a Domino's pepperoni pizza.....not yesterday! I resisted the urge to eat emotionally and stuck to my program and was very glad I did. I am so happy I was able to overcome that situation. One emotional situation at a time and pretty soon, I will no longer be an emotional eater :) Although, I think it is something I will always have to guard against.
Thanks for all of your encouragement and support! Without you all, I am nothing...ok, well, I'm not nothing, but I would certainly be all ALONE!
Keeping Strong,
Jodi

D-day!
Today is my official start date! My aunt and I re-join Weight Watchers tonight. I am very excited and motivated. I started eating according to the plan this morning and tracking my food. My aunt and I have determined that we must not quit this time. Both of our lives depend on us taking this weight off! I know that I am the only one standing in the way of my success.....it's time to move!

Gearing Up...
TGIF!
I am gearing up for the big day....
Today, my bra is so tight that I feel like a tube of toothpaste bursting at the seems, just waiting for the top to pop and ooooozzzze out! The first thing I do when I get home from work every night is strip off that bra. I cannot wait for the day that my bra fits normal, the hooks are not all broken, and I hardly notice I am wearing one because it fits the way it is supposed to. Then, again, my oh-so-snug bra has been a great reminder today of why I am returning to Weight Watchers on Tuesday!
I made a list of the foods I remember eating when I was doing WW before so that I can go get those groceries. I am going to start planning our dinners again so that I know what we are having each night for dinner so that there is no need to eat according to my emotion and/or level of tiredness and, finally, I am creating (with the help of my aunt) my food points journal. This will make it easy for me as I will keep all of my WW foods written in this book and will not have to look them up and calculate the points each time I make a meal. I can look in my book and easily find my food :)
So, I am going to continue planning and taking the right steps to get me started on the right foot come Tuesday!
Have a great weekend blog friends!

PS - If you do not wish to receive my email updates, please let me know, I think there is a way I can edit who receives them and who does not wish to. I will not be offended......I promise!

I used to be a slave to the vending machines at work
Now I walk by them with determination
I used to be a slave to the fast food restaurants I would drive by
Now I drive by with confidence
I used to hang my head down low when I walked
Now I can feel the chains break with each step I take
Now, I walk PROUD.
I am woman.
Hear me shout.
I am able.
I am strong.
I am successful.
I am no longer a slave.
Food is no longer my master!
